A: Medicare is a federal insurance program begun in 1965. It consists of two parts:
Part A which pays for Hospital costs and many Nursing Facility costs, and Part B which is
a voluntary, supplementary program which covers medical and other Nursing Facility
services.
The people in our Admissions Department and Business Office are well versed regarding
the intricacies of Medicare. They have a wonderful ability to walk people through the
often confusing "Medicare Maze", making it simple to understand. Please call
them with your specific questions.
Q: What are the visiting hours?
A: For all practical purposes, there are no visiting hours; We are "open" for
visitors 24 hours a day. That being said, we usually recommend that visits take place in
conformity with the specific care needs of the individual.
Q: Is smoking allowed?
A:
Yes, there is one area set aside for smokers. Although this is a hotly
debated issue, we have managed to safeguard the rights of smokers and
non-smokers alike by setting a policy which respects both sides.
